people portraits

The following is a portrait from a coffee shop series I did way back. The subject is Johnny as portrayed through several techniques and mixed media (crayon pencil, pen, digital, collage and photography). You can see orange to yellow light emitting from his body, and green light emitting from his heart region. These are representative of his aura and chakra energies. There is also a reference to Japanese manga and as well some key phrases, books and a school of fish, including the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a (which I believe was recently reinstated as Hawaii’s state fish).

Note: although I am technically on vacation I thought I would post from spacetime to spacetime.

Food for the heart and the soul

The Mahaloness painting is coming along, and what would art process be without some key ingredients: the sky being one, colorful flowers, books, coffee from my favorite coffee shopThe Roasterie, and good ole comfort food, of course*. The sky is key becuase working so close to the canvas can cause eyes to strain, I often take a moment to step outside and look up, and as far up as is possible. As for food I like eggs, they are quick and easy and offer yet another kind of canvas to nourish the creative zeal.
*there are some additional key ingredients and medicines that offer good headspace, heartspace that put me into a healthy creative mindset, this list will be expanded upon.

Dancing Mahaloness equals yum

The Mahaloness equation just keeps growing, and what would the world be without dancing? It is a gateway to creative flow when inside process and out. When outside process dancing is a great way To let it go, let the DJ with the disco ball cape offer a channel, dimension, and with clear mind, let loose, lead follow side by side and embrace the moment with all your heart. You can dance walk, walk down a street and add some dance steps, solo dance, dance with people, dance with your cat, let it go and enjoy a dance, it is a meditation, cathartic activation. Be a tree dancing with the wind, swaying and let the energy carry all thoughts away. The tree of Mahaloness is deep, roots into the subterranean, trunk reaching high to the sky, leaves breathing, all at once grounded and connected to the sky. Dancing is like a stick person it has been around since the beginning of this thing we call time. If you forget to dance you forget to be human, and in the opinion of this author if you forget to be human, you forget your inner light, your lighthouse for the world around you, and will find yourself alone. Just remember that the Mahaloness is always going to be your friend, by your side, inside, outside.
