thank you ❤️

It was a very peaceful end to a rather strange December. There were a few things went south for me which as it turns out was a blessing in disguise. Everything happens for a reason, and even if that’s not entirely true, that’s what I am going with at the moment. I had plans to do a year end best, however I think I am just going to regroup for the New Year and count my blessings. I rcently hit a wall and was for once without words, the dreaded writers block. Not one to back down I plan to work through it. That said my best ever blog was titled wordless, just pictures, I think I might experiment with that bit in the coming year. I am a visual person throug hand through however I do think writing is a great tool and when the strokes of genius come I will resume this blog, steadfast as it comes.  As it stands I am grateful for my family and the few true friends that I have in my life. I am grateful for my health and for the freedom to make art. I am optimistic for the year to come and look forward to more art and writing. I also truly appreciate those who follow my humble page and for the love and support, it does make a difference. I wish everyone a wonderful year ahead, I think we all deserve a good year!

For now here’s a new minimoiton I made with an original soundscape made form samples I recorded playing on my moms piano.

BC magica

Following a busy couple of months hälts the artist behind the art and fotos you see here on Mahaloness decided it was best to head west and spend time in his second home, where the elders live, Windermere BC, East Kootenay. I see the valley as a continuously morphing painting, each time I look, something new added to the composition, ceaseless magica, and a place where the mind eases.

Birdslife

I went to a lake with my best friend
She had never seen a bald eagle soar
Nor bear witness to an osprey’s dive
Near the water’s edge did we see
All of this
And even a hummingbird
golden eagle
and a blue heron
a pair no less!

Looking up from down below

Sometimes it is a good idea to leave the citylife behind you and immerse in wilderness, nature, and in this case, a place called Windermere Lake. Here one can truly find some peace of mind. The lake is actually the majestic Columbia River, home to some spectacular bird species, bears, cougars, wolves, lynx, and thats not even the tip of this iceberg. Lets keep our Earth available to the next generations shall we. Big Mahaloness goes out to Mother Earth. This blog is dedicated to looking up from down below.

There is something magical about this one, Agent R looks on, one can only wonder what’s in her mind as the osprey soars above. She witnessed her first Osprey dive bomb into the water, truly an amazing sight to behold.

Mountainous Mahaloness

The Mountain Meru

The mountain Meru is a cosmic mountain of the world. At the beginning of creation the world was covered by a vast ocean, the world ocean. At the bottom of this ocean rested a turtle, upon which sand was gradually deposited. From it, the mountain Meru, the center of the world arose.

-Tibetan Mandalas Tatjana Blau

The mountains do not move in the wind. It is a world that I have experienced many times, since I was a child, lucky I may be, the mountains is a place I love to be, I always feel refreshed after spending time in them and, amongst them.

Fotomahaloness -mountains in BC (look carefully for the heart, and to think some say the mountains are cold) and a moment captured this past summer on a sojourn to Maui, and the impetus for this blog, looking at West Maui’s “extinct” volcanic range, just for some contrast and link 411 on West Maui
Dedicated to my family, friends, and my loved ones. You know who you are.

Molly’s Garden

Although my parents and I may not see things quite the same, no matter what, I love them and hence this painting, which is a depiction of their home, and my moms garden, eloquently called Molly’s Garden. It is here that I have had the great fortune to spend time, and sit by the lake in the fall, when there is hardly anyone around, and watch the bald eagles as they soar magically by. It is a place where I can sit and meditate, calm mind, so I can carry on, wherever it is I am going. I will most likely make another lake painting one day, when the time comes I will feel it, and go without hesitation.
Thank you Mom for being you, I love you.
