quest

I acknowledge the ancient ancestors
whose light lit my mortal torch
who made the path I walk
my marks are also their marks
my vision a continuation of their vision
and so I journey on
this torch illuminates the way
thank you dear ancestors
for you helped to make this life
and for this I will carry forward
long into the night.

undulations and a mural called ‘Creator’

Life really does come in undulations, sometims it peaks, sometimes you fly over the falls, sometimes you go deep, and than cycle back to the top.

🌀Following a couple days of rest I can begin to plan my next and more than likely last couple sesshins on my latest mural ‘Creator’ which features the 3 jewels of art: consciousness, energy, and the gift of Life. A string of experiences led to this vision, it was sitting in my minds eye for quite sometime and once I found the right wall similar to a waterfall it flowed out of my head beautifully. I always leave room for whimsy, for a mural is a dance, as Cuban friend and muralist once told me, what a gem of wisdom because murals are a lot of work, but when you turn it into a dance it seems you can go on what feels like forever, time falls away, deadlines fall away, pressure falls away, it is just pure creative zealous and a drive thay makes it happen,  along with a few good friends stopping by with music and curisosity, a mice warm hot keal for a special soeone on between sesshins, and people passing by on the street who take the time to send a positive message, that keeps me going too. More to come soon my friends, I am just putting together a timelapse video, that I think is goong to be a lot of fun. Thank you for check it this out. Mahaloness.

Canada Day

I set up a pop up hälts ART gallery yesterday for the  Canada Day celebation. On the day my helper, and up coming artist Raya, helped to curate the display and I  set up a mini studio to do some live art. One of the things I like to do when making live art is to enagage with the public, including the younger folk and offer them the chance to make a mark. The result is pure magic, and this day was no exception.

I am always amazed by impromptu  collaborations, big MAHALO to everyone who contributed to the live art, Mahaloness all the way.

My bus art hapoened to be in the hood, a beacon of hope.

Even a mark on a pallette can be a thing of beauty, abstract art at its finest.

Thank you to everyone for coming out and for participating, what a great way to celebrate Canada! Eh.

Special thanks to Rebecca, Raya, Robert Hilton, Andrej and all the volunteers, good show.
