đź’ Body painting is a unique canvas, it moves, it breathes, and undulates. The connection to the canvas alive demanding the utmost attention and revealing subtle paths for the brush to follow. Body painting is a teacher, the experience breaking down walls while opening up the possibilties of  real intimacy between people. Body painting is empowering, it compliments the beauty of the human body, counter to what society portrays as beautiful. Body painting is a healer and offers a very real and effective tool for dealing with social and humanistic issues that we all face in the world today.

đź–ŚRecently hälts was invited to gathering to paint human subjects, with his trusty brushes , water and some body paints. It turned into a magical night of interconnectedness, compassion, and kindness. Taking comfort in his subjects the brush came alive, bridging a gap of misunderstanding and revealing truths about this life that often get overlooked, and missed in the hustle and bustle. Taking time to paint these amazing humans made me realize a lot about myself and my fellow humans out there trying to make ther way through life in their own way, no judgements, just doing what they have to do. It made realize I am not alone, and my friends are not alone, we are here for each other, taking comfort in each other, loving each other and sometimes the other way around, we have a lot to learn from one another, so if you think you are alone take comfort in knowing you are not alone, everybody hurts, everybody laughs, everbody loves, and everybody cries. Like my friends REM say, ‘hold on!’.

Thanks to @markadam77 for his gift, check out more of his exceptional work at Instagram. (all Mahalonessfotos in this post are by Mark)

Most often I put captions with my fotos, this post is a little different, my good friend, and brother from another mother took some time to join me at a recent gathering and took these deeply meaningful, beautiful, breath taking images, all of which he did out of the graciousness of his heart, perhaps I will expand on my words in future posts for now please just enjoy and hold on, you are never alone.

Mahaloness is an art blog documenting the inner spirit and artist journey of Shane Haltman, also referred to as 'hälts'. He lives, breathes and makes art in Canada. Hälts often travels to remote and exotic locations to produce community spirit murals and paintings using available materials. He is unconventional in his approach to art and chooses unique projects and sometimes they choose him. He is known for guerrilla lawn art shows, painting helmet art for a Canadian Olympic Athlete, and once painted a magic bus out of this world. Mostly he is human as anyone else, however very driven and disciplined with respect to his artistic practice. He has experience working with the bereaved and helping people who are experiencing, or who have experienced trauma in their lives. He also enjoys working with the youth and passing on his wisdom, usually in the form of art jams. Hälts is a full spectrum artist, living and breathing art, as a daily practice, in this mixed up beautiful world.
