This is a new minimotion by hälts featuring footage from his last mural project ‘creator’ along with some fun animations paired nicely with a hälts original soundtrack, powered by Mahaloness. The hummingbird footage is from a recent trip to BC where hälts also discovered a new talent he never knew he had, path making, which he has shared a little bit in recent posts and will most likely follow up on in future posts. Until the next my friends be well and enjoy this hälts special presentation. Thank you

drala in BC
Although the sun is always in the sky, what is it that causes you to look up and see that it is there? Although magic is always available, what allows you to discover it? The basic definition of drala is “energy beyond aggression.” The only way to contact that energy is to experience a gentle state of being in yourself. -‘Shambhala. The Sacred Path of the Warrior’ by Chögyam Trungpa

For the past little while hälts has been soaking up some BC magica, taking in as much as is humanly possbile while giving back to his elders, building a safe and sturdy path so they may move easily and confortably. The artistic flow enters new territory, gaining a new appreciation of the work of stone masons. Similar to painting, the act of mark making takes on 3-D form, brick to brick, stone to stone, one step closer to final composition. There is a sense of fulfillment and happiness in this work, it will be interesting to see how this influences hälts artistic practice as he continues along the artists path.

Breaks by the lake put life to persecptive as BC soaks into my soul, or isnit th either way around, gratitude all around.

soul medicine
life offers joy
life brings pain
life brings surprises

no matter what may come
there will be hälts

A bit of a painful moment in hälts life journey, these moments build character and are essential to feel, whether you be man, woman, or child, give yourself the freedom to let go and feel whatever it is you feel, than write it down, express it through art, or cooking, or dancing, or singing, maybe a little less drinking, whatever it is you do, channel it, this is good medicine.

No matter how alone you may feel, there will always come a visitor to remind you that this may not be true. (Praying Mantis friend visitation during a maui mana painting sesshin)

back to ink
hälts is in BC, back to the basics, back to the drawing book, with pen in hand, BC Nature takes over senses and sanity returns, peace of mind, dreams and a new found freedom.

…and a flashback to a recent event, and a rare capture of hälts in action.

hälts body paint is a transformational experience, from a recent gathering here with Robyn as she morphs into cosmos captured eloquently by Mark Adam.
Thank you my friends, more BC stuff coming as hälts prepares to go 3-D with some bricks and a little bit of elbow grease.
BC magica
Following a busy couple of months hälts the artist behind the art and fotos you see here on Mahaloness decided it was best to head west and spend time in his second home, where the elders live, Windermere BC, East Kootenay. I see the valley as a continuously morphing painting, each time I look, something new added to the composition, ceaseless magica, and a place where the mind eases.

Nature’s pollinating system

The metamorphosis of the dragonfly, hidden between the interlocing secti of a boat slip so easily missed, such an amazing process by Nature

What does my dragonfly friend see?

In my mind this was a double overhead Hawaiian, even if it is only a lake and that would be highly improbable.

body paint Mahaloness
💠Body painting is a unique canvas, it moves, it breathes, and undulates. The connection to the canvas alive demanding the utmost attention and revealing subtle paths for the brush to follow. Body painting is a teacher, the experience breaking down walls while opening up the possibilties of real intimacy between people. Body painting is empowering, it compliments the beauty of the human body, counter to what society portrays as beautiful. Body painting is a healer and offers a very real and effective tool for dealing with social and humanistic issues that we all face in the world today.
🖌Recently hälts was invited to gathering to paint human subjects, with his trusty brushes , water and some body paints. It turned into a magical night of interconnectedness, compassion, and kindness. Taking comfort in his subjects the brush came alive, bridging a gap of misunderstanding and revealing truths about this life that often get overlooked, and missed in the hustle and bustle. Taking time to paint these amazing humans made me realize a lot about myself and my fellow humans out there trying to make ther way through life in their own way, no judgements, just doing what they have to do. It made realize I am not alone, and my friends are not alone, we are here for each other, taking comfort in each other, loving each other and sometimes the other way around, we have a lot to learn from one another, so if you think you are alone take comfort in knowing you are not alone, everybody hurts, everybody laughs, everbody loves, and everybody cries. Like my friends REM say, ‘hold on!’.

Most often I put captions with my fotos, this post is a little different, my good friend, and brother from another mother took some time to join me at a recent gathering and took these deeply meaningful, beautiful, breath taking images, all of which he did out of the graciousness of his heart, perhaps I will expand on my words in future posts for now please just enjoy and hold on, you are never alone.
a quick little flashback
I wish I had all the answers and than I would wish I never knew them at all.

Flashhback to a time when I found myself in between, a transition period, what better place to find oneself than on an island in the middle of the Pacific. Below is some of the creative explorations I found myself on, the force was strong on Maui it was impossible not to want to respond, looking back I am pretty happy I did what I had to do.

The visitation of a praying mantis is quite auspicious and taken as a sign of being on track and also to take it slow, not too fast, be like mantis.
Remember love and compassion make beautiful waves.
