If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to a man as it is: infinte. -William Blake, Deadman
This is another of my famous person portraits, which I also refer to as my painter paparazzi series. I enjoy painting people who are passionate and dedicated to their artform(s), as well as those who have influenced my artistic path, stoking the fire as it were. This portrait is Johnny Depp in Jim Jarmusch’s ‘Deadman’ (1995) one of the best history lessons I have received in this lifetime, and what Jarmusch calls a ‘psychedelic western’, my kind of film.
