This is where I stand.

And now, a quick poem about a grove I recently explored.

This is where I stand
Touching the tree
Feeling the energy that is hundreds of years old
This is where I stand
Rooted in her roots
EM waves going up and down my spine
Carrying a heavy weight
Even though it is all in my mind
This is where I stand
As one with nature
Not separate
No matter what
This is where I stand

Special Features: This area is a small protected area of Douglas fir old-growth forest within the Coastal Western Hemlock Biogeoclimatic Zone. Most of Vancouver Islands old-growth Douglas Fir forest has been logged, this small Grove is to this day in a critical state, as clear cutting around the site and poor resource management skills have led to increased blowdowns, erosion and other major concerns.
An interesting link about Cathedral Grove and old-growth forest preservation.

fotoMahaloness credit goes to Rebecca R, or Agent R, thank you for this nice foto, a rare glimpse of the person behind this blog, me.
In future episodes Mahaloness will be sharing more coastal moments, words and a new feature, about once a week I will be writing about an artist, other than myself, a way of giving back to those artists who have, and continue to, inspire me. Blessings and happiness be with you.
