Seeking new opportunities

I do murals. I am always seeking for new walls, new opportunities. In the foto montage you will see the Cirque du Soleil mural that I was a team member on, it was the first ever mural I ever worked on, it was under the guidance of Jamie Osbourne, Global Colors ( Jamie taught me everything I know as well as some of the other members of the team. It was a 7 story wall, there was 5 of us on the job, 2 Cubans, a Basilian and 2 Canucks. It took us 23 days and was amazing to work on in every possible way. We used every technique, guided by Jamie, a true master. Since than I have independently beginning with working on a mural on a hardware store called Hillhurst Hardware, a door on 11:11 Boutique, painted over Cirque du Soleil with an Air Canada ad ((Global Colors), which only saving grace was that we used the color cobalt teal a lot! I painted a bus called Furtherer, Big Hau, or Bassbus depending on how you look at it. Recently I installed a couple murals that were meant to be painted over, which I installed as protective deity murals. This is my passion, my love and joy. I love quality and beautiful full vibrant colors, and love working with dynamic, bold imagery. These murals touch people’s lives in so many ways, it is my passion and the passion of the communities I have worked with that make it what it is. I am looking to do more murals, so if you know of someone looking for a mural of awesomeness look no further, I am ready and prepared. I also do interior murals which range from cutout stencil, brush and airbrush. I do background paintings for electronica shows, there’s no surface I would not paint given the opportunity. Please share with those people who would be interested, and contact me directly for more info if you are interested. I do negotiate value prior to working, and believe a fair exchange is key. Mahaloness is an art blog documenting the inner spirit and artist journey of Shane Haltman, also referred to as 'hälts'. He lives, breathes and makes art in Canada. Hälts often travels to remote and exotic locations to produce community spirit murals and paintings using available materials. He is unconventional in his approach to art and chooses unique projects and sometimes they choose him. He is known for guerrilla lawn art shows, painting helmet art for a Canadian Olympic Athlete, and once painted a magic bus out of this world. Mostly he is human as anyone else, however very driven and disciplined with respect to his artistic practice. He has experience working with the bereaved and helping people who are experiencing, or who have experienced trauma in their lives. He also enjoys working with the youth and passing on his wisdom, usually in the form of art jams. Hälts is a full spectrum artist, living and breathing art, as a daily practice, in this mixed up beautiful world.
